Do you have a venue charge?
We DO NOT charge a venue hire fee for events in the evening (Garden Bar & Empress Room). We have minimum spends across food & beverages on mid-week, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

We charge a $500 venue hire fee for daytime events on Saturdays and Sundays
(usually baby showers, kids parties or other celebrations).
Can we BYO drinks?
No, Arcana is a licensed venue. NO alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks can be brought on site. If they are, you will be asked to leave.
Can I bring my own caterer?
Unfortunately No, we have a commercial kitchen, chef and staff on-site.

Do you have Parking on site?
We have 25 on-site car parks and 200 after hours street parks available.

Are children allowed at the venue?
Yes, children are welcome at Arcana, as long as they are supervised by an adult at all time.

Does every guest need to be vaccinated ?
We will be following the QLD government health measures in place at the time of the event. At the moment, there are no vaccination requirements to enter a licensed venue.

No, sorry, we do not offer ceremony only packages.

Events at Arcana
How long is a booking for?
All bookings are 4-hours exclusive:

Afternoon bookings are 4-hrs between from 12pm – 5pm

Evening bookings are 4-hrs between 6pm – 11pm

You can add extra hours for a charge.
Our liquor licence finishes at 11pm, so we cannot serve past this time.
Do we have access before our event?
Yes, you are welcome to arrive one (1) hour prior to your event in order to set up. However, your guests should arrive no earlier than the time of the event (the bar will not be open until the event start time).
Do you have a site layout for Arcana?

Do we host 18th & 21st birthday parties?
Yes, we have many great options for 18th and 21st birthday parties.
A security guard is required for 18th and 21st birthdays with over 50 people.
We charge $66 per hour for our security guards.
Do we have Photo Booths?
We can we can offer a Photo Booth for $880 for 4-hours.

Can I set up decorations before my event?
You are welcome to bring your own decoration, as long as it is taken down or thrown away at the end of the evening.
Do you host school related celebrations like formals or post formal events?
No, sorry, we don’t host any formal events or post formal parties at Arcana.
We do host many other school related activities and events.
Can we bring a cake?
You are welcome to bring a cake free of charge, this can be stored in our fridge if you like. We can happily provide our plates and gold hammered cutlery for $3.95 per person, or you’re welcome to bring in paper plates and plastic cutlery. We just ask you clean all of this up at the end of your booking (leftover cake to be taken away or thrown away is bins provided).

Empress Theatre
What theatre configurations do you have?
We offer four (4) standard layouts, including:
Standard Layout with 7.2m x 4.8m x 900mm stage & 200 seats
Cabaret Stage with Thrust & 148 seats
What's included in the theatre hire?
The Empress Theatre includes:
– Super cold Theatre Air Conditioning
– Dressing room with stage access & a/c
– Stage comms system with headsets
– Use of Arcana’s Ticketing system
– Pro Audio Console, 3 radio mics & headsets
– ETC console, 7 movers & 24 RGD par cans
– 5m high black theatre drapes
– Ground floor access for the bump in/out
– Bar & Kitchen facilities to complete your guests experience at Arcana.
How long is a standard day booking in the theatre?
A standard day hire is eight (8) hours.
Do you have a ticketing system? What are your charges?
Ticket Prices
Please factor in Arcana’s booking fee of $3.30 per ticket sold. Your guests will also pay a bank charge of 2.5% of the total cost + a trybooking charge of 55cents per ticket sold.

Do you open the bar and kitchen for theatre shows?
Yes, we usually open the bar and kitchen 1.5 hours before the advertised show starting time. Occasionally with smaller theatre shows, we alter what the kitchen can offer and if we can offer meals at all.
Where can I find the technical info for the Empress Theatre?

Can vehicles enter the Empress Room for photo shoots?
No, sorry, we have sprung floors that are not made to support the weight of a car.
What sizes do you have for film & photo shoots?
We have the two studios suitable for film and photography.

How can we book the studio?
It’s easy to book at ARCANA.
Online Film Bookings Monday to Friday Only.
Weekends Bookings must be cleared via Management (please email us!)

Are the lights included in the hire?
No, the lights are not included in the hire.
You can hire the lights and a technician for a 45-min consult and design for $349.
This includes the technician showing you how to navigate from one lighting state to the next so you can change the lights when you’re ready over your hire.
The technician will typically be able to produce 4-5 lighting states for you.
Can we hire just the hazer & fluid for our shoot?
Yes, you can hire JUST the hazer without the lighting for $99 per day (up to 8 hours). Email arcanabrisbane (at) gmail.com to book this in with Management.
Studio Hire Bookings
How can we book the studio?

Do we offer discounts for ongoing tenancy studio hire?
Yes, we offer a 10% discount on all studio rates for hirers wanting to commit to an on-going hire. This must be an annual commitment with a tenancy agreement signed and monthly invoicing. Email us at arcanabrisbane (at) gmail.com to discuss this further.
What studios do you have? and what size are they?
The Empress Room
14.4m long x 10.8m wide with 8m high ceilings. Featuring a brand new 55Kw Air Conditioning system, PA and fully surround 5m high black theatre drapes. Pricing for non-event bookings.
The Moon Room
The Moon Studio is a private studio space measuring 10m wide x 6m deep with 3.5m high ceilings. Includes air conditioning, PA and fully surround 2.5m high black theatre drapes.
The Sun Room
The Sun Studio is 8.4m wide x 7.6m deep, a total of 64sqm and includes wooden flooring, surround mirrors, PA, air conditioning, projector and screen.
If you're hiring a studio, can you bring in your own food & drinks?
No, Arcana is a fully licensed venue across food & drinks. NO alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, or outside food can be brought on site. If they are, you will be asked to leave. Please contact us for food and drink packages should you wish to include this into your hire.
What is your studio hire cancellation policy?
As the hirer you agree that any termination or cancellation you make within 72-hours (three days) of your date of hire will result in no refunds. Arcana will offer a studio hire credit for any cancellations made over 72 hours in advance. We do not issue refunds.
